Hmm. I'd like to see some of his amateur fights before the abuse. That kind of drug abuse really effects your brain and body. He probably lost a lot from it.

tarver was damn near the same fighter in the amateurs but in the pros he used his range and could crack with that left hand of his. that drug abuse couldn't have affected him that much. by time he turned pro, he was 28 and 6 months passed since the olympics. you can see in the olympics when he fought jirov, he had some speed, fresher legs but still the same guy who who went in there jabbing and looking to land a straight left.

Yeah Tarver used to be on that shyt....but past use hasn't seem to affect his fighting at all
Him and Roy fought as teenagers in the sunshine games in Florida. Roy beat him but that gave Tarver the motivation to get to RJJ level once he saw where Jones career was going.
