How do you refer to White people in public?

It's a pet peeve of mine but I hate when Black people say "majority culture" or "Caucasians (sp?)" when talking race with White people. But when they get around Black people they just say "White". And I even heard Blacks who say "White" tell white people during race discussions "I'm not trying to be offensive" when they say White. Is this suppose to derogatory term to White people or something. If so, I know White people and never seen any offended when you refer to them as White. So why do Blacks treat it like an offensive term?

Depends on the tone of conversation. If people are going around saying African-Americans then I will say Caucasian. If they going around saying black people I say white people.
