I have been reading a lot lately and one commonality I have found is that one of the most effecient ways to get from where you are to where you want to be is do what successful people do.

More specifically do what successful people do in the field or area you want to be in.

I want to switch career and become a personal trainer/blogger. I want to mix personal development with fitness and eventually become a writer and blogger.

I just don't know how. I lift and working on getting into the kind of shape that shows I know what I'm talking about. I going to get certs in personal training soon. I have also talked to trainers and asked them questions.

I just feel like I'm kind of just doing "stuff" I don't really have a clue on how to go about it systematically.

I'm reading/listening to books on successfull people everyday. I'm trying to find people doing what I'm doing to follow their blueprint.

Do any of you have a "system" for how to model other people or, figure out what steps need to be taken when trying something new you have no idea how to get there.

Here are some online links to see where I'm coming from.

You got the right idea, just meet the "best" people in whatever it is your doing , talk to them and learn from as much as you can. For you going to the cert/ personal training classes will do.Stay after class talk to the teachers, find out where they train, who they learned from, who inspires them. Also take notes after conversations , study basically. Study what you learned from them and see how you can implement/ "model" it in you life

One of the greatest secrets in mimicking/modeling others who are successful is to change your uniform/outfit to match that of what you want to be.

Ever heard the term "modeling for success"?

Dress the part and it is easier to convince yourself of what you want.

You cannot just model yourself verbatim after 'other successful people'. You have to extract the various laws that dictated their success and apply those principles in your own life. If you want to be a fitness trainer, you have to study various fitness trainers, observe how they did what they did and take that information and apply it through your own life and then EXPERIMENT and make adjustments where necessary. You will eventually begin to form your own model, which you will make adjustments to based upon whether or not it is producing your desired results.

There is the technical and the creative aspect only YOU can bring to your game. Your skills are what they buy, but it's You and your uniqueness that does the selling.
