How do you hug? Pat on back? Men & Women?

What is your rules on hugging? For both men and women? If you're a man, how many seconds before you give the pat on the back? Or do you not do that when you hug a man and give a straight embrace? If you're a man hugging a woman do you do the pat on the back? Or just straight hug?

Same set of questions for the ladies. Do yall do the pat on the back with other women?

Personally, I have the 3 second rules when it comes to guy. If neither one of us do the pat then I'll do it. With women, I never do the pat. Unless, it's like 8 seconds to break up the embrace. Just feels more genuine. That pat on the back stuff when you begin to hug just feels fake. Even when hugging a man (pause). .
