Make sure you choose quick format as a normal one could shorten the lifespan of your ssd.
When I clean install windows off the usb drive and hit “Format” before installing Windows 10, is that harmful as well? I’m asking because I do that once a month

If you ever do that again, just remove the CMOS battery (looks like a nickel) for an hour or so, then put it back in. This effectively resets the BIOS. On some Mobo's, there's a jumper that you need to 'short' by placing it on two nearby leads that will do the same thing without having to remove the battery. Check your board's manual to see which jumper you need to short, if any.
