How do you guys feel about rapping over instrumentals that have been used a lot or are really old. I know as an artist you should just spit over anything you want but how does the listener feel? Advice please?

Depends on what it's for and what beat is being used. Lesser known beats will likely not even be different from using a new one, but if you use a beat that a lot of people know and love a certain way already,, they won't really feel you like they could've over a new joint. But rapping over other's beats is kinda an overused thing nowadays.

Doesn't hurt though if you just tryna spit something.

If you're just spittin' and flowin', then there's no harm in that. Using already known beats is kind of overplayed now because so many people repeat this course of action.

If its dope, than its DOPE! :yeshrug:... If you do justice to a beat, whether its freestyle or original and its dope, its getting played on my headphones. If you're rapper, i'm listening to you as a Rapper (Flow, Punchlines, Presence, Etc.) Hope that make sense.
