How do you discipline your kids?

My 9 yr son was acting up in school this past week. He was supposed to go to his friend's house last night, cancelled then his uncle was going to take him to a wwe event during this week, no longer. My Breh let him borrow a game and said he could keep it if he's good in school, not happening.

Today I made him go up in down taking out recyclables from my 3rd floor apt. He's done about 30 push-ups so far. No tv just reading.

I haven't whooped his ass yet but I told him I owe him. Truth be told I don't feel like doing it.

How do y'all punish your kids?
