Career wise:
Accomplishing your goals (or at least being on the right track). Having that stability, security, and comfort.

Basically, I think you're successful if you're happy doing what you wanted to do.

There's people with AMAZING careers depressed on pills committing suicide - not succesful.

Then there's those who live a humble/normal life in loving families very comfortable grinding out 9-to-5 jobs for 40k a year - succesful.

It's all perception.
