How Do You Define A Black Film?

For some people a black film is defined by the theme and not the participants.

For example - Selma, 12 Years a Slave, The Wood, Menace to Society, Do the Right Thing would all be considered black films

While Creed, Pursuit of Happyness, Training Day, Inside Man are not black films despite the cast.

Training Day features a lot of different shyt and has appeal to all races, Creed was a continuation of Rocky which while loved by Blacks isn't a black film at all and the other 2 aren't really appealing to a black audience i guess, it could have been made by white people and been the same while movies like Selma, 12 Years a Slave. Do the Right Thing and Menace II Society couldn't be replaced with other races, they all also have something to do with racial injustice against Blacks (Slavery, Bigotry, Police Brutality, etc..)
