I once used the excuse that I had a repair person coming to the house to fix washer/dryer and of course the repair place gave me an range time of 8am - 12pm or 1pm - 5pm. Depends of course on the time of the interview.

last time I was looking for a job, I would go at lunch time, or there was a day I started at 11, so I'd schedule all my interviews for before 11am on wednesdays only. the next time I was looking for a job, I worked at home on wednesdays, so I'd schedule all my interviews for a wednesday. this way I'd NEVER have to waste vacation time interviewing for a job. with this work at home job I got now, if I wanted to find another job, I could basically go for an interview any time I'd like given I don't have a conference or something else pressing to do.

I have also been able to schedule a few interviews on either a weekend or after 5 pm. but that's a rarity. depends on how much they wanna hire u.

Don't quit your current job. I would make up something and just ask for N extended lunch break. Some employers were willing to work with me knowing I was currently working.

The worse ones are when the job is in your city, but the company's HQ is like 40 miles away and that's where all the interviews take place. :snoop:

You gotta play sick or say some emergency came up, but you can only do this once or twice so make sure the job counts.
