When you realize that these people are basically writing the blueprint for the black man then you also realize that it needs to change. Black owned media would go a long way in addressing this but it needs to be something that can embed much deeper than "minority" views (think univision, asian tv shows). We as black people on top of everything else in this country, are POORLY portrayed by the media and it is a fukking travesty.

This is not me saying we should care what white people think about us, however, it is me proclaiming that we need better representation in this country. Hoodrats, athletes, rappers and thugs are how MOST people view us, even ourselves. We can't change the status quo if we don't get SOMETHING to show another side of the majority

MSNBC did it for a couple years and now they quickly changing direction :wtb:
They're pretty much the only liberal media we have. I noticed a lot of ad agencies always include black men and women in tv spots. Always a sista with natural too. There's a strong natural hair agenda and I know im not crazy. :jbhmm: We're seeing more postive minority programming ex. Fresh of the boat, blackish. Hollywood is hella liberal and im ok with it

Not going to happen.

The white media gets off on distorting the images of people of African descent. Creating your own media is the only way to show positiveness, which used to occur in Black owned newspapers.
