This is a great idea until you realize some of the barriers.

- What if you don't have wi-fi and cant register your spouse in time for a gun battle?
- what if you have gloves on?
- what if you have greasy or dirty fingers and the scanner can't recognize your prints?
- how does it handle interference from other tech like Bluetooth and wi-fi?
- if the scanner malfunctions the entire gun is useless.

I'm usually one for tech. But the reason why guns have remained analog for so long is that they need to be used as quickly as possible. In a life/death situation creating barriers for use could be the difference between subduing a target and a slaughter.

Interesting points. I’ll look into those. I remember Andrew Yang spoke about smart guns 4 years ago
