Like some said in other threads, it's cheap to make. You don't pay these actors (most of the time they are unless you strike gold like Jersey Shore) that much money. Plus there is no special effects or editing. It'll be around until another genre makes a serious push. Hell even Kevin Hart's Real Husbands of Hollywood is a fake reality show about fake reality shows. :heh:

I don't mind reality tv shows because anyone with half a brain knows its fake but its entertainment. What pisses me off are these 5 minute youtube videos about a fight or some other thing that are clearly fake yet people still think they're real and you have 10 page threads seriously discussing them, like that cougar divorce thread.

It's made me weary now because I don't even trust any video I see now. I simply assume they're all fake.

Yup.
Related to youtube is most of these fake "banned" sprite, skittles, etc videos that are so ridiculous and over the top. It's crazy what people believe when it's presented in a different format with the right trigger words.

The main reason reality tv is getting a lot of hate is because of the internet.

If the internet never existed, we will all accept reality tv because this shyt is not new at all.

We had a lot of reality shows in the 80s and 90s like cops, jerry springer, geraldo, ricky lake, jenny jones, real world etc and people didn't give a damn because we had other kind of shows.

But now people watch reality shows over regular shows. Feed them garbage, and they will continue to eat garbage.

Can't believe people still pay exorbitant fees for cable. I don't even watch tv anymore. My internet connection is way better than tv and I have control of what I want to watch.

I don't need these goofy cable companies telling me what to do.

Sports is dumb, I haven't watched that shyt since the late 90s, they all suck. There are no real personalities or excitement anymore, that shyt always bores me to death.

I tried to watch that mayweather guy but he puts me to sleep all the time, just a boring hack.

Wrestling today is garbage too.

The nba sucks too, squads are just filled with players that have no great personalities or charisma, just a bunch of money grubbing boring fukks.
