I made a cursory search but I figured fukk it lets ask the coli. I can't find an answer as to how animals fur changes to blend into the environment over thousands of years. Polar Bears see the white snow all the time and some how it got printed in their DNA and over millennia their hair became white? What is the mechanism? This shyt is mind boggling. Same for Camels which really bugs me out because why would Camels have to blend in? Were there predators back in the day that they had to avoid? Why else would they look like sand? Obviously it's evolution i'm just wondering if we have any how it eorks in terms of over millions of years data is collected in DNA or whatever smh

The Wrong Side of the Tracks
Bears with fur color from random mutation that better concealed their location and enabled them to more successfully catch prey were more likely to survive in that environment and have offspring than those without it.

That 'trait' was then passed to their offspring.

Adaptation via random mutation is part of evolution.

That's it.
