How did you learn to mix your beats?

Did y'all go to school or self taught?

This seems like the hardest thing when it comes to making beats. I don't know where to begin....I know the very basics

self taught...just using my ears in the beginning, years of sounding absolutely horrible.
then the internet came and i went thru tons and tons of tutorials over years.
pretty quickly you see the same concepts and fundamentals repeated over and over and it just gets committed to memory...

lots and lots and lots of trial and error, feedback helps too

overall your ears have the final say, because no matter your skill level you always know how you want your shyt to sound
