How could someone stomach watching this game in its entirety?

This Sports Illustrated article from 94’ talks about concerns at the time over poor shooting and low scoring.
None of the dudes in here want to touch how folks felt in REAL TIME about the NBA in 94.
Offenses were GARBAGE. Niqqas couldn't shoot. It was a brick fest. It's only those of us who saw the 80s NBA who recognized the fall off. Most in here were raised on the fall off.

TV viewership today CANT FAIRLY compare to 30 years ago because streaming shattered mass audiences into nice fragments. They are still trying to properly gauge streaming numbers. What on EARTH are you talking about?
Streaming didn’t seem to affect when Golden State was in the finals

I worked for comScore. They still haven’t found a way to properly track streaming numbers as well as Nielson which took off after 2018.
They tracked them for the Super Bowl

I don’t even know what you’re arguing, the NBA interest, even with low scoring games (including the early 2000s which you keep ignoring) was vastly more than it is now

This board and the overall ratings reflect that

I think what saved that series of horrible games, along with the Knicks-Heat games is the perceived rivalry. Looking back, Maybe it was media generated rivalry or maybe it wasn't

The NFL numbers are from TV views.

They only streamed for the first time this year with Tubi
Wrong

Streams were including in the numbers

Tubi doesn’t matter, you seem to forget that each major network also has dedicated apps where the game can be streamed

Not even to mention apps like Sling and YouTube TV

This is all included

Anymore excuses brother ?

My stance is Today's game has its faults but shyt wasn't so glorious as cats pretend back in the 90s as well.

Every topic isn't black or white. This whole Team A or Team B shyt the last decade plus is corny. Fault can be on both ends. Didn't that goofy shyt start with Dem Twilight movies :scust:

My second point is clearly about cats playing up shyt for clicks and clout today and insecurities on their end as well.
But the onus should be on the older heads to show the way respecting the game and different eras. The game was different then and very rough watching sometimes. You can appreciate it with acknowledging it's shortcomings. Same as now. Problem is now older heads constantly shytting on the game today. It definitely needs adjusting but it has its good shyt too.
Owe you rep :salute:

Knicks fumbled their championship when they broke up their 92 squad. They had Xavier McDaniel, Mark Jackson and Gerald Wilkins and took the prime Bulls to 7 games.

Xavier and Gerald could get you buckets. Instead they went for Charles Smith who was soft, and they couldn't win a championship in between those two Chicago three-peats.

Expansion did not make the play worse. What made the play worse was the college kids did not pan out. After '84 probably no more than 5 truly great players entered the the league until '92. After that the league was being flooded with talent.
Never thought about this. I wonder why that is.

I'm just speculating but the only reason I can come with is Reagonomics/gang violence lol
