I actually have both 2K7 and 2K8...they play differently, but both games are STILL amazing to play to this day.

College Hoops is one of the best basketball games ever, the little things in the series were dope too. You could recruit a 6"3 SG that had low skills initially but a lot of potential and by the time he's a junior he's 6"5 and 90+ rating

One thing I wish they kept from the older College Hoop games was scouting HS players and being able to play their games against other HS schools. I know they had the AAU circuit, but it was always hilarious to recruit some 7 footer and then go play one of his games where the opposing center trying to guard him is 6"4

I had 2K7 on the OG Xbox it was great, but when I got a 360 next year and only played 2K8 and Fallout 3 for like 2 years straight

I still play college hoops 2k8. The folks at operation sports update it still. I still a quality game.

i still play the college hoops 2k8/nba 2k8 combo dynasty modes on ps2.

and i recently copped the 360 versions for both of those games as well as hoops 2k7/nba 2k7.

and i recently found hoops 2k6/nba 2k6 for ps2.

so while these games are on sabatical, i'll be good for the next 2-3 years, catching up on the classics that i missed out on when i wasnt playing video games like that.....especially if they let you tamper with the rosters during dynasty mode like they do on hoops 2k8 for ps2. i'll be good updating the rosters every season with incoming freshman, and not letting any players leave for the nba 2k games until after their senior seasons.

2k should make one every few years. And just update the rosters yearly. Imagine a my player mode for college ball. Starting with a junior year vegas aau tournament, leading jnto your senior year in high school like they do football, picking your school out of scholarship offers and trying to lead your team to the tournament each season.
