How come the original lineup of Tony! Toni! Tone! broke up?

They made some of the best R&B music in the 90's. But how come after their 1996 they broke up? Raphael Saadiq formed Lucy Pearl soon after only for that to fizzle out quickly and since then he's been doing his solo thing along w/ writing for various other artists which is great, but how come Tony! Toni! Tone! broke up? It's been 21 years since their last album too!
They made some of the best music of the 90's; timeless music!

IDk but they broke up around when Rafael Wiggins turned to Rafael Sadiiq. And they do come from a church background.
