This was a cat who was going nowhere.. He had the vanilla pretty boy gimmick and was going south quick. Then Paul repackaged himself as the "Innovator of Violence", Paul hooked him up with the Alice in Chains theme and he got over... This dude literally put his body and soul on the line for ECW in hoping it would pop. He was the first wrestler I literally seen that go #HOH since Jake Roberts. He was piledriving Raven's bytches and putting them on his team. This dude took MANY ass whippings. Him being chokeslammed by prime time Brian Lee through 4 tables was my introduction to ECW in the first place.. I literally had the face because I thought Prime time had killed him.




Then of course Him and Raven engaged in possibly the bloodiest feud of the summer in 95 which carried out for 3 years. Dreamer was one of those guys that kept on taking Ls to Raven week after week, month after month and still remaining over with the fans. He had memorable feuds with Justin Credible, Sandman CW Anderson, The Dudleys, Shane Douglas, Foley and many others. Plus he soaked up alot of game from Paul on how to book and wrote the entire One Night Stand PPV from 2005. He clearly has alot of knowledge of the business and how to book so its crazy how the business don't really give him his due.

Everything was well said, I've wanted to make a Tommy Dreamer Appreciation thread for years but couldn't put in words what he means to the world of wrestling

Simple. He will always be an ECW'er, a scab in professional wrestling. His style never changed, plus he is one of those guys where...

• If he might die from OD, or kill someone

When you do ECW style, your basically throwing in towel of traditional wrestling, in favor of high spots/risky shyt to draw a crowd pop, which rubs people the wrong way.

Met him once while he was in WWE. Apparently me and wifey had booked a hotel where some of the talent was staying. We were waiting for a cab, i was sitting down chilling in the lobby. Saw him enter, said something like “hey Tommy dreamer” cause it was random as hell seeing the guy, didn’t ask for a pic or autograph...He was a dikk. Barely acknowledged me as a person. fukk that guy. Christian who I met maybe twenty minutes earlier was cool as hell. All I did was say what’s up Christian and he extended for the dap. He indeed looks out for his Peeps.

I completely loathe Tommy Dreamer. He does have his place in history, but...you know what, I’m just gonna copy and paste my post from that evaluation in 2016

An ECW legend, but I never gave a fukk about him. Every person he feuded with was much better and more interesting than he was, whether it was actually in ring or character wise. He always looked like he should be taking out the trash and cleaning up after shows instead of wrestling. He had pretty cool themes, and could cut promos, and even though he was basic in the ring, it fit his hardcore match style. Honestly, it was his WWE and TNA runs that really made me loathe his existence, always playing the victim and crying. There's only so many times you can build sympathy through shedding tears (take note Sasha and Charlotte ). I didn't mind him getting a thank you title reign when he won the WWECW title, but eventually I just wanted to see him get Swagger Bombed. Would not have minded if Taker tossed him in his own throw-up again. And that EV-2.0 shyt in TNA, complete more promos of him crying I know he had some legendary feuds in ECW, but I just never got behind him, and he's always been near the bottom of ECW guys that I cared for. It was very easy to root against him regardless of who the other person was. So I give him a 3, and if I was at my work computer, I could type out another paragraph for this loser and lower his score even more.

So overall, he's understandably an ECW legend that I didn't care for, had very few notable matches that I was into, and I enjoyed when he was off tv more than on.
