how he was never able to duplicate that flow, delivery, and swag ever again in his career after song. this shyt was raw, aggressive. i guess it was jsut carryover form battling cannibus. his manager should have paid canibus to diss this nigguh ever two years. no reason he couldnt be battling for the kony with that style from this song inthe early 2000's.

i'm assuming he wrote all his own materials

he was just jumping on the fast southern bouncy flow that a lot of NY MC's were trying to do back then. he did it better than a lot of others like Nas

The big showdown the display is skill
I'm the type of Picasso witcha girl on the pill
Take a family snap shot kiss ya wife
Cause I'm like a knife, the concrete is right
And I'll take ya life and take ya like python
I'ma do you wrong
Any emcee who you wanna name?
I want pain that I can be tamed
Talkin about guns punk it don't alarm me
Got enough cash to make a whole damn army
I can't hold back the way that I feel
Cause when I bust a rhyme it's like ya slippin off banana peels

ll cool j had a more advance multisyllable rhyme pattern back on murdergram

Song was perceived as corny...everybody was rapping fast..he's late here

Wasn't nobody checking for LL by this time..they was trying to throw dirt on his career back when 14 shots came out..they said he was washed up before mama said knock you out dropped so..it was a matter of time

Song is men btw

It was the era where NY dudes were trying to bounce against a southern tempo type of beat. Nas, Jay, Raekwon, OGC (awful), Busta, Dead Prez, Ghostface, Inspecta Dec, Lord Have Mercy, etc.. all had those type of attempts.

You don't remember the glut of sounds with someone always ablibing bounce bounce etc....

That said, that track was wack as fukk.

I always wondered about that. 14 Shots is one of my favorite LL albums but I've seen people shyt on it all the time. Do people think it's that bad or was it they were more mad that LL was riding a trend?
