How come Al Ewings Immortal Thor is so good, Xmen Red is cool, and

I re-read Immortal Thor and was like damn this man is cooking

Everything else is too silly

His Immortal Thor was 10/10. (Probably my favorite thing he's done)
9/10 - Ultimates 1, Ultimates 2, Loki - Agent of Asgard
8/10 - X-Men Red, Immortal Thor (I know people love these books, but they are just good to me)

After that he has a lot of misses.

He gets a bit nerdy deep diving into comic book lore that simply isn’t as interesting to the rest of us as it is to him, and that at times bogs down his book

Ultimates was an example of that. The premise was excellent but Blue Marvel spent more time giving heavy exposition about the cosmos than punching anything or building/advancing relationships
