I always thought that if he hadn't got fired. He would've eventually been turned face and left, or kicked out because of Barrett's greed for power and control. They spent a lot time building him as an underdog face against Cole and Miz on NXT. So that feud needed to blown off, I never thought he would be in Nexus for the long haul. I could see him being like RVD during The Invasion angle where he performed like a face despite being a heel group. No matter it would resulted in him and barrett beefing.
