How can I preserve battery life on my Galaxy Note

I recently bought a Galaxy Note and I'm not sure whether I'm tripping but it seems like my battery dies fast....

I dont use it for phone purposes I use it to go online...

and I think that for using it about a hour and a half atleast half of my battery is gone...

is this normal? if not, what can I do about it?

Did you condition the battery? I had that problem with my g3.

Go into Settings and then Applications Manager.
From here you can disable certain apps, especially bloatware that help drain your battery.
I removed most the Samsung crap off this phone and a couple other processes and Ive noticed a big change in my battery.
Also use power saving mode If your not doing anything too strenuous on your phone.
