the business model is different. The making of the show production wise doesnt really change at all. But at least now if you drop on Amazon or netflix you KNOW you are going to get a full season to flesh out your story. That's a huge advantage to some of the smaller production companies. Take Peaky Blinders for instance. If you didnt have international TV you really missed out on an awesome ass show. Now that it picked up on the 'Flix people can late pass and still be up to speed.

It also gives a chance to shows that would have NEVER bee picked up by a major studio. Orange is the new black woulda been relegated to Logo more than likely and it woulda died off even though it woulda been lauded.

Netflix and Amazon have the advantage of accessibility. once HBO/ESPN goes a la carte there will really be no reason to even have cable.

i hope they find talented up and comers instead of working with some of these :flabbynsick: directors and actors who are way past their prime

i really hope they do change the business model with day and release

at least with some of the indie flicks

im at that age where i wanna have kids soon but i still need to see my movies and keep up with the pop culture conversation :birdman:

i read the Amazon movies will come out in theaters first and then on prime a month later.

That's exactly what they're not going to do. They approach people who are well-known (ie Woody Allen) and say "You can do whatever you want here, no questions asked"

Maybe further down the line, they'll take a shot on some newcomers, but for now, places like Netflix and Amazon are where people who were popping 20 years ago and still have a name can go make some easy money

Some Amazon pilot season shows are from newcomers. I even read one was a fan submission :leon:
