Netflix has renewed political drama House of Cards for a fourth season, the streaming service announced Thursday. The series is set to go back into production this summer for a 2016 premiere.

Starring Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright as Washington D.C. power couple Frank and Claire Underwood, the most recent season saw Frank in the midst of his first term as President of the United States. The season ended in the midst of his bid for reelection.

Although Netflix famously keeps its streaming stats under wraps, the series has been a power player during awards season from the beginning. House of Cards took home three Emmys for its first season in 2013, including a best directing win for executive producer David Fincher. Wright won a Golden Globe for her role in 2014 and Spacey nabbed Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards for his performance earlier this year.

Spacey is also an executive producer, along with showrunner Beau Willimon, Joshua Donen, Eric Roth, Dana Brunetti, Andrew Davies, Michael Dobbs and Fincher. The series is produced by Donen/Fincher/Roth and Trigger Street Productions, Inc., in association with Media Rights Capital.

Adapted from the BBC miniseries of the same name, House of Cards was Netflix’s first foray into original series. It now joins recently renewed shows Marco Polo, Hemlock Grove, Bojack Horseman, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Orange Is the New Black and Bloodline, which was picked up for season two on Tuesday.
