It's a little silly. Lol. Vanessa Williams being so naive is just nearly comical. Luciano was way more powerful than portrayed as well.

I haven’t watched hoodlum in at least a decade, but I do remember liking the movie. I need to watch as an adult and see how I feel now...regardless, I love the 20’s/30’s/prohibition era, so just being in that setting is good enough for me.

I can see how yall say it was over dramatic but Cicely Tyson was great, my dude Clarence Williams III was great, Chi Mcbride always great and Andy Garcia was a the best Luciano until dude from boardwalk empire came through and crushed the buildings.
