One of my favorite grunge bands on the planet

Some background info:
Hole was an American alternative rock band that formed in Los Angeles, California in 1989 by vocalist, lyricist, and rhythm guitarist Courtney Love, and lead guitarist Eric Erlandson. The band had a revolving line-up of bassists and drummers, their most prolific being drummer Patty Schemel, and bassists Kristen Pfaff and Melissa Auf der Maur.

Those may know Courtney due to her relationship with Frontman Kurt Cobain from the Group Nirvana. I'm not normally a Courtney apologist... I just don't believe that the woman gets her due when it comes to the authorship of her work or the extent of her talent.

Their first album(pretty on the inside) is nothing to write home about, but the 2nd was critically acclaimed. Pretty much their Magnum Opus.

The album was released 4 days after Kurt Cobain's suicide.

They're also many rumors floating around about Kurt penning the entire album. Not sure if true, but if you know Nirvana and their music, you can hear Kurt's influence all over it.

In an article published by The Guardian in 2011, Everett True contested:

Kurt sang backing vocals on two songs. He wrote one B-side for Hole ("Old Age"), uncredited. And that was it. It would be just as accurate – and misleading – to say that Courtney Love wrote most of Nirvana's third album, In Utero: you can certainly see her influence in Kurt's lyrics. Before the pair met, it was often guesswork as to his intentions. Afterwards, his lyrics were far more direct.
