Nationalism in itself isn't always bad. At least by definition. However, the issue with nationalism historically has been it being intertwined with race,ethnicity, religion, etc and also far right authoritarianism usually accompanies it. Especially in the United States that has a huge race problem historically.

Nationalism also tends to lead to mindless cult like jingoism which many people, especially in this country at times have practiced with complete idiocy, hatred, and as if it was a religious belief. Remember when the Dixie Chicks got shyt canned? Remember when people called shyt Freedom Fries? Remember when you were pretty much blacklisted for a time if you suggested that maybe invading Iraq wasn't a good idea?

You think Candence Owens and friends are on board with a benign nationalism? or are they more supportive of the type pushed and advocated by Blood and Soil types in Charlottesville?

This is the type of Nationalism, proto-fascism these people are cultivating these days
