This is blasphemy

IWW has some faults:
- it tried to follow a precedent from OB4CL and was never able to live up to it
- one or two tracks could disappear from the tracklist no harm done e.g. Watch Dem nikkas & Nas is Coming

Illmatic is a near flawless piece of work.

But lyrically IWW was a vast improvement you can't deny that.

Illmatic >>> IWW any day.

anyone who tells me that IWW is better than Illmatic aint really a hip hop fan at his/her core.

I honestly still don't get how people say IWW is better than Illmatic

Illmatic is pretty much flawless

They're saying it for attention. None of them ever give any solid reasons either. Just some vague bullshyt like "growth" or "lyricism" or "concepts"

It's mandatory, see that p*ssy they hand it to me/I got no game it's just some bytches understand my story

One of Nas best lines ever was on Watch Dem nikkas :wtf:

Nas Is Coming was fire

Literally no throwaways on IWW

Illmatic classic but Nas elevated with IWW on every level: lyrically, production, hooks and versatility.

Illmatic was damn near the same song over and over with slightly different beats and lyrics.

nobody denying the quality of Nas' lyrics throughout the album

but the songs themselves are nothing to write home about...and Nas is Coming sounds super outta place with that wack ass Dre beat
:scust:

Nas is not at fault for any of his subpar album work....as usual his ear for beats and his album crafting skills on the whole leave a lot to be desired. His mic skills have always been A1.

I heard IWW first so I always liked it more than Illmatic. Anyways, Nas was at his most confident as a rapper on that album . He was the best in the world and he knew it. :wow:

in 1996?
:wtf:

I think Pac will have something to say about that

maybe Prodigy, HOV and Redman too

idk maybe Rae + Ghost as well

but Pac was the best in the world at that point

Nothing to write home about?

I Gave U Power still one of the most creative songs ever.

It even inspired Pac to bless us with Me And My Girlfriend.

I was talking about the two songs I pinpointed for being weak on the album: Watch Dem nikkas + Nas is Coming

as for I Gave You Power....great song, but that concept was taken from Organized Konfusion's Stray Bullet mind you, so it isn't original

At no point was pac lyrically better then Nas:martin:

in 1996 he was a better rapper than Nas idk how you wanna define it...lyrics, delivery, flows, albums, whatever it is....Pac was better

and if you're going on that East Coast "lyrical" tip, then what about Redman, HOV or P? Rae/Ghost? What about Ras Kass even tho he was West Coast but was spitting like he was East Coast?
