Previously titled Goat, the next feature from Jordan Peele‘s Monkeypaw Productions is now titled Him, and Vanity Fair’s new behind-the-scenes image unveiled this morning offers new details on the sports horror movie.

Him is currently set to release in theaters on September 19, 2025.

Justin Tipping (Kicks) will direct the sports-themed psychological horror tale for Monkeypaw and Universal. Based on a pitch by Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie, the upcoming horror movie centers on a “promising young athlete who is invited to train with a team’s retiring star.” It’s described as “a blood-chilling journey into the inner sanctum of fame, power, and the pursuit of excellence at any cost.”

Marlon Wayans will star alongside Julia Fox (Uncut Gems, Presence), Tyriq Withers (“Atlanta”), Tim Heidecker, Jim Jefferies, and Grammy nominee Tierra Whack.

The new image doesn’t reveal much in the way of plot or horror, but it does come with interesting insight. Director Justin Tipping told VF that his sports movie is “translated through a classic spaghetti Western lens,“ making for a very intriguing genre mashup. The image also reveals that Tyriq Withers will play the young football player, with Marlon Wayans as the star quarterback who him under his wing. The image reveals a scene being filmed that involves guns, which indicates a lot of uncomfortable tension ahead.

Jordan Peele will produce the upcoming horror movie alongside Win Rosenfeld, Ian Cooper, and Jamal Watson. Executive producers are David Kern and Kate Oh.

Monkeypaw Productions is behind Peele’s films Get Out, Us, and Nope, as well as Nia DaCosta’s Candyman, “The Twilight Zone“ reboot, and the HBO series “Lovecraft Country.”

They got the young half and half from the Kevin Samuel’s episode of Atlanta… classic episode and young lite Breh could act.

This could be good.

Low-key I wish he and Gambino could work together. It feels like they are at the point they are starting to influence each other.

Described as a horror sports movie :ohhh::salute: “translated through a classic spaghetti Western lens” :why::scusthov:

Tf. Black western adaptions tend to fall flat. Too cliche and pidgeon holed. Harder they fall comes to mind
