The highest selling rappers are old

The gen z rappers can’t seem to make an impact outside of their target demographic unless they die :patrice:

Today’s charts are basically the same people playing the same playlists plus whatever’s hot on the radio. Popular albums stay on the charts eternally because most people over the age of 30 don’t seek out new music and the youngs are consuming music on TikTok and livestreams. It is what it is.

Juice/X/Popsmoke dying had massive impact on the genre. Labels imitate cheap success they can control, and we never got to a point where they tried to replicate those guys, all of whom were good songwriters. Instead it's been years of replicating Carti and Travis and the results have been disastrous.
