WrestleMania 29- Yeah, I got a lil' carried away with the match set-ups and it's a lot to read but
this is how I'd set it up...
Chris Jericho vs Wade Barrett (IC Title)- Jericho is talking about how excited he is for WrestleMania, when Barrett appears. He questions what Jericho is even doing still hanging around. He was useless when he "mentored" him on NXT and he's been useless ever since. Jericho reminds Barrett that he's held that title Barrett's carrying 9 times... maybe WrestleMania's the time to see if he can make it 10.
(Jericho wins the IC title.)
Money In The Bank: Randy Orton vs Sheamus vs Kane vs The Miz vs Cody Rhodes vs Kofi Kingston vs Damien Sandow vs Antonio Cesaro Booker T announces that MITB will return to WrestleMania, and it will feature four former WWE/World champions, and four who have not yet won either title. The announcement of the participants is made the following week on Raw.
(Cesaro wins after pushing both Orton and Sheamus from a ladder as they both attempted to grab the briefcase)
Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara vs Big Show & Mark Henry (Tag Team Championship): Show and Henry respect each other's destructive tendencies, and begin to wonder how much destruction they could cause as a unit. They begin this union by brutally beating Brodus Clay and Tensai on Smackdown, then they intimidate Teddy Long into giving them a tag team title shot against Team Hell No on the March 11th RAW. They defeat THN and win the titles, and declare that not one team in the WWE will ever stand a chance at winning them. They issue an open challenge to any team for a match at Mania, and the only one that steps up is the much-smaller team of Mysterio and Sin Cara.
(Henry and Big Show win, in what becomes a handicap match after Sin Cara is injured by Henry and cannot continue. Mysterio tries to win the match alone, but ultimately loses.)
Ryback vs The Shield (Gauntlet Match)- Ryback has partnered up with Cena, Sheamus, Team Hell No, and Chris Jericho in attempts to defeat the Shield, and it's never worked out. At WrestleMania, he decides that if he wants something done, he'll do it by himself.
(Ryback pins Seth Rollins first, Roman Reigns is DQ'd for hitting Ryback with a monitor, finally Ryback pins Dean Ambrose for the win)
Alberto Del Rio vs Jack Swagger- Swagger decides he wants his title shot early, so he challenges Del Rio for the WHC on the February 25 episode of Raw. Del Rio defeats him with a surprise rollup, which infuriates Swagger. He grabs a chair and assaults Del Rio with it, then places him in the Patriot Act until Zeb Colter instructs him to stop. They leave the area, and then Dolph Ziggler's music hits. He comes to the ring, cashes in his MITB and does an anklelock of his own, to which Del Rio taps out. Rather than get a title rematch with Ziggler at Mania which he is entitled to, and although working on an injured ankle, Del Rio wants a match with Swagger instead. ADR dedicates this match to his people, as Swagger mockingly dedicates it to "We, The People" who want to see ADR's people gone.
(Swagger wins via submission after placing Del Rio in the Patriot Act for nearly 2 minutes...
this leads to a Submission Match at Extreme Rules)
Daniel Bryan vs Dolph Ziggler (WHC) Ziggler defeats Del RIo due to an attack by Swagger, after which Ziggler cashes in. With Del Rio declining a rematch at Mania in order to face Swagger instead, two new top contenders are named: Daniel Bryan and Kane. Bryan defeats Kane, symbolizing the end of Team Hell No, although Kane and Bryan's friendship remains intact. Meanwhile, Dolph and his friend Big E Langston (and Bryan's ex, AJ) guarantee that Bryan will not leave Mania with the WHC.
(Bryan wins the championship by submission... during the match Langston repeatedly interferes in the match until Kane appears and stops him. Once that happens, Bryan is finally able to trap Ziggler in the No Lock for the win)
The Rock vs HHH with special guest referee Stone Cold Steve Austin- HHH gradually begins antagonizing Rock, saying that years ago, he and Rock fought all over the world and now, he owns the ring Rock stands in. He insinuates that he expects homage from the Rock, who of course ridicules and mocks him instead. For the following weeks, there are several jabs between the two about their history- which gradually leads to HHH saying that Rock ran away to Hollywood because he knew he'd never be the best in WWE as long as HHH was there. Rock replies by telling HHH that he should be lucky he went to Hollywood, because Rock would've kept kicking his ass just like all those other years. Finally, HHH and Rock come to blows and the match is made for Mania. HHH adds a stipulation: If Rock loses, he is never allowed to come back to WWE. This leads Vince McMahon to make a decision of his own. He says that he is in a tough spot- he loves them both like they were his own sons and he feels like he's in the middle of this. However, although he loves HHH, he doesn't trust him. He doesn't trust the idea of a WWE referee objectively calling a match involving the COO of the company. Due to that conflict of interest, he feels there should be someone neutral as the ref- someone who can call it without bias. HHH says "I agree, pop. And I know it'll be tough for you, but you'll make the right call." Vince corrects HHH and says the referee won't be him... it will be Stone Cold Steve Austin.
(Rock wins)
Brock Lesnar vs CM Punk (WWE Title)- Paul Heyman tries to welcome Lesnar back into the fold of his organization. He has come clean about his association with the Shield and he manages the WWE champion CM Punk. He thinks Lesnar is the missing piece of what he thinks will be the greatest assemblage of wrestlers of all time. Lesnar however isn't a fan of any member of Heyman's stable, especially CM Punk. He tells Heyman that Punk is someone who 10 years ago, he would've rolled down a flight of steps like "that kid with the one leg". Heyman tries to reel Brock in, but once Brock firmly declines, the Shield appears to attempt taking out Brock. Surprisingly Brock handles them better than any superstar has up to this point. While tossing them all from the ring, CM Punk appears from behind and hits Lesnar in the head with the WWE championship. Punk says that normally, the guy who's not the champion is the challenger. But after the disrespect shown to him by Brock, an overrated disappearing act who was always too weak for this business... the champion is challenging HIM.
(Punk wins after help by the newest member of Heyman's organization, Ryback.)
Undertaker vs John Cena- Cena decides against using his Royal Rumble win for a title shot. He instead decides that he wants to make a greater challenge... The Streak. When Undertaker appears, he questions Cena's motive and his integrity. Cena says that he's won the WWE title and the World championship... and someday he'll challenge for those again. But this year, he wants to do something he nor anyone else has ever done before. He's looked up to the Undertaker since he was 13 years old and first saw him at Survivor Series, and never thought that one day, he could face him at WrestleMania... and quite possibly, defeat him. He doesn't just want that opportunity... he HAS to take it. Undertaker tips his hat, walks away, then turns back around and does the throat-cutting gesture. The match is made.
(Undertaker wins... of course)
