the only problem with a social experiment like this is that it backfires in real life. that's a reality show so they edit the fuq outta it. they have to get permission from ppl to put it on tv and some just won't want to get exposed.
so out of say 200 ppl only 2 will stand up against something like this. And it being a marine just shows to me it's staged. A lot of these reality shows on tv like garage wars, bar rescue etc... are exposed as being staged. the bottom line is that it's entertainment and no one really likes to view themselves as racist as entertainment.
