We literally lost Affirmative Action, ROE V WADE, ect .
Speaking of that, remember 2008 when candidate Obama said he was going to sign into law legislation that would permanently protect Roe v. Wade so that future conservative-leaning Supreme Courts couldn't fukk with it?

Remember how in 2009 the Democrats had enough votes in congress to make that happen?

And then remember how they just...... didn't do that?

And then the press asked Obama "Hey man, you said you were going to do this thing, you have the power to do it, the Republicans don't have enough votes in Congress to stop you, all this checks and balances stuff, you know, that stuff I learned in a Civics class in 8th grade... what's the deal?"

And Obama replied, "That is not a priority." Which is basically politician-speak for "I never gave a fukk about that, bytch, get back on the stroll, hoe, and get me this money."

Even when the Democrats have enough votes to do the "progressive" things they promised they'd do, THEY DO NOT DO THEM. They just say that shyt to shore up what they can get from the youth vote, the lefties who are dumb enough to keep trusting Dems, etc. That stuff is not part of their agenda. Their agenda is to serve big business and that's it. That's it. THAT IS IT.

If Trump gets elected for another term, US government as we understand it is going to collapse. Not sure why that is even controversial at this point. Look at all the laws and regulations he tried to break last time, and y'all think he's gonna be more restrained the second time around with nothing to lose? All the law-abiding a$$holes he appointed at first were fired or quit by the end of his term, the only ones left are "win at all costs" types. And it's not going to end in any sort of reasonable election, we already know that.

I'd be very curious to see what happens with a Trump cabinet, specifically Attorney General. Because that's the power point for everything he wants to do. Expect some "law abiding" republican senators to throw their hands up and say oh well the president has the right to appoint cabinet members, we have to vote for his nominee.

They have a plan. I don't think it's a coincidence that he just so happens to constantly be surrounded by people who want to destroy government, and understand how they want to do it. Kash Patel, Mike Flynn, etc. Not just domestically. You can guarantee the US would withdraw from NATO, suspend support for Ukraine, and then shyt will really pop off.

Only pushback I see to this is that Trump constantly folded to pressure as president in the past, and his obsession with making people like him led to various compromises or retreats on his part. Especially when it came to foreign policy. Maybe he just wants to rake in foreign money and play golf. Dismantling the government would require some direct action on his part, including actual work - something he has constantly shown he has no interest in. Maybe he decides keeping the status quo - outside of firing a few specific govt workers - is his best shot at calm. But I doubt it.

WASHINGTON (AP) — With more than a year to go before the 2024 election, a constellation of conservative organizations is preparing for a possible second White House term for Donald Trump, recruiting thousands of Americans to come to Washington on a mission to dismantle the federal government and replace it with a vision closer to his own.

Led by the long-established Heritage Foundation think tank and fueled by former Trump administration officials, the far-reaching effort is essentially a government-in-waiting for the former president’s return — or any candidate who aligns with their ideals and can defeat President Joe Biden in 2024.

With a nearly 1,000-page “Project 2025” handbook and an “army” of Americans, the idea is to have the civic infrastructure in place on Day One to commandeer, reshape and do away with what Republicans deride as the “deep state” bureaucracy, in part by firing as many as 50,000 federal workers.
