But that's literally not what they're saying. Disgruntled black voters are literally begging for something to vote FOR.

With any other constituency, that sentiment would normally engender hot and heavy cable news 'debates' on how to get those voters back.

For us, we get scolded. EVERY TIME. No matter the election, no matter the opponent. Economic conditions just brought it to a head, finally.

Are we expected to stay quiet until we just peter out of existence? Reminder: 2053 is fast approaching and my city just gave away my reparations.

A sizable amount are saying that though.

My answer is to form or get behind an agenda and a candidate who will support and articulate that agenda, while still participating in the system so we don't start from even more of a deficit.

Order 66 got a point. Motherfukkers say vote then they can't pass shyt. You get a majority and all of a sudden there's a guy like machin just roadblocking everything. How convenient. Now I don't believe in an illuminati, but I do believe in corruption and payoLa. American government looks like a scam to me.
2009. Democrats had enough votes to codify Roe v. Wade into law, just as Obama said they'd do.

And they didn't. They could have. They had the opportunity. They chose not to, after saying they would. Obama, leader of the party, said "It's not a priority."

Now Biden's president, Roe has been overturned by the courts, and Democratic party leadership is celebrating this fact because it means they can campaign and fundraise on it.

One party is explicit fascist and quite literally want to overthrow the government and completely subjugate large swaths of the population under fundamental FascoChristian rule.
And the other party constantly brags about its bipartisanship. :dead:

The leader of the other party says "Those guys are fascists.... And they're my good friends!" :deadrose:

No they didn't. You keep posting this, but it's not true. They didn't have the votes of the Blue Dogs in the party to actually pass the Freedom of Choice Act. They should have continued to push the issue forward instead of believing it was settled law (at the time most SC justices agreed with this), but you're being misleading, which is something you do a lot in these threads.

Just because someone has D next to their name doesn't mean they're good. And it doesn't mean they're going to vote along the line. That's why people should become more active in sending better representatives to office instead of trying to turn people off online.

We asked NARAL Pro-Choice America, an abortion rights group, to assess the progress on this issue.

"The protection of Roe v. Wade in federal law remains a long-term priority for NARAL Pro-Choice America and the pro-choice community. Unfortunately, the composition of Congress (including the first two years of President Obama"s term) did not include enough pro-choice votes to pass legislation like the Freedom of Choice Act," NARAL said in a statement.

NARAL cited other efforts by Obama which the organization views as achievements in reproductive rights, such as rescinding the global gag rule and signing legislation fixing the price of birth control at safety net health centers.

You see this shyt, folks? Even when the Democrats have enough votes, they don't have enough votes.

:deadrose:

As soon as they could do the progressive stuff you voted for them to do, they form factions within the party that aren't onboard with the president's agenda.

It's a shell game. Just like with Manchin and Sinema right now.

Keep buying the excuses though. The Democrats are not progressive or left wing or supportive of a woman's right to choose or any of these other phrases. They're an institution dedicated to keeping things roughly the same.

That's why people should become more active in sending better representatives to office instead of trying to turn people off online.
I agree, I tell people to vote for the candidates that are closest to their own political beliefs. That's why I'm voting for Dr. Cornel West. :umad:

No. These "factions" that have differences of opinion has always existed within the Republican and Democratic parties. You wouldn't know that if you don't follow politics.

Example:
In 2009, conversative and moderate Democrats stopped a Public Option from being added to Obamacare.
In 2017, a few moderate Republican Senate women and John McCain stopped Trump from killing Obamacare.

You have your moderate Republicans that is willing to work with moderate Democrats, your real Conversative Republicans, your MAGA Republicans. You have your Progressive Democrats, Libs, Moderates, Blue Dog, etc.

The US Senate is not as partisan as the US House. Partially because Senators represent entire states while House members represent a small district. Plus if a Democrat gets elected Senator in a conversative state (which was the case in 2009), chances are they may not be as liberal as Senators who are elected in blue states.

Thanks for the education. Since I don't follow politics, I would have never learned.

Now that I know the Democratic party is always beholden to interests that will shut down any progressive action, I will never be voting for Democrats.

Thank you for your help. I will be voting for left-leaning third parties from now on, from the local and regional level all the way up to the presidency.

Nah you and your ilk are engaging in voter suppression. It’s obvious you and a few other posters are probably paid to suppress or cause voter apathy in black online spaces. Your day is coming

HE gonna get hit with a RICO charge that would make the PPP loan scandal look like child's play. Voter intimidation and voter suppression is why Kanye's former manager is about to serve a whole jail sentence.

It’s crazy as a black man in America where the vast majority of us vote democrat not because we’re ignorant of politics just the opposite we understand they are the better party for our needs that you have to say that.

I refuse to be gaslighted anymore by c00ns, agents or cacs who have tried to turn the word democrat into pejorative. Of course, I have my criticisms of them I am very left leaning but that’s all we have right now. I am a proud democrat because as an African American man they’re the party that most align with my values and the only thing keeping white supremacist at bay.

I hate how we have ceded ground to trolls on here having to say that. Of course I can’t speak for you but more than not our opinions align so I assume you’re a democrat, if you’re not I apologize you’re still a good poster :salute:
