All this does is keep the hype machine going. People can sit there and diss Iggy 24-7. If she's wack, she should be ignored. If she's not Hip Hop, why even continue to discuss her.

The sad part about it is you have a female rapper who is considered Hip Hop, but her comments on Iggy is the topic of discussion. Let's talk about Rah Digga, someone who I think people would agree has made dope music. Why isn't this the focus instead of an artist that's supposedly fake and wack?

"Wack" is subjective. If people like it, that's their business. That's not the issue. The problem is people continuing to :pacspit: at music that they consider wack. How many Iggy Azalea fans are really on here making threads about how dope Iggy is? Very few if any. However, there is a new Iggy thread every other day filled with comments about how wack and fake she is. On top of that, there's videos in the threads. If people are clicking the links and viewing the videos even if it's just to see "how fake her accent really is", she still makes $$$ off of it because of the Youtube views.

Anti-Iggy threads push the so called "agenda" more so than it looks the media is pushing it. Look at it, Iggy's supposedly "not Hip Hop", but she's discussed at length more so than the female rappers who are. If people agree that the music's wack and she's not Hip Hop, why waste time talking about her? If it's because she's successful, who here is really actually doing anything to challenge that makes an inkling of difference for the culture? She's going to continue to have #1 hits as long as people download, stream, and listen to her music. Does her having #1 singles and what not really dictate the direction of the culture?

:comeon:

be smart son.

they know exactly what theyre doing. and theyve gotten this far because people didnt want to speak up.

thats why they couldnt succeed at this chit back in the day, because we were gate-keepers. now people want to speak up AFTER THE FACT.

Iggy has gotten this far because she's made catchy songs with Pop appeal that's easy to market and easy for radio programmers to add to playlists. There's nothing to rectify that if people are actually liking what they are hearing. That being the case, there's nothing that could be said to change that.

The problem is what exactly were/are we the gate-keepers of. It's one thing to be the gate-keeper of a culture, but culture isn't synonymous with business. Do we have gate-keepers in a position of power at every level of the supply chain? The biggest factor is the influence of the listeners and consumers of the music. All of these big corporations from Interscope to Clear Channel are all employees. They are employed by the millions of listeners. It's the listeners that they spend time and money studying to determine demographics and audiences. Iggy is a product whose success or failure depends on how well the A&R departments did their research and whether the listeners and audiences respond accordingly.

She's right tho Iggy Azalea fake ass wanna be a southern rapper, with that phony ass southern accent, I don't why T.I. co-signed this shyt he gotta be getting something in exchange for doing this, either some of that royalty money of her songs or getting that p*ssy. But that ass phat tho so & she got the pop game on lock right now so I guess it really doesn't matter right now, but around this next year we won't be hearing Iggy's name her 15 minutes are almost up.

Rappers change their image all the time. Nikki went from hood chick to barbie. Kim also changes her voice (fake British accent, Barbie accent, etc). Iggy is far from the first person to use a "fake" accent, especially a southern one.

Iggy is a pop rapper. She makes pop rap. Nicki makes pop rap. Drake makes pop rap.
