So I will be stopping PHAT temporarily starting January due to scheduling conflicts when I move into a new country, new uni, probably lookin' for work too, etc ... (so i probably wouldn't have the time/energy for 5 days of intense training at first.)

So I am thinking about going back to a traditional 4 day split that I was doing before I started PHAT.

It used to be

chest/tri
back/bi
shoulders/traps
legs

My question is - I used to do deadlifts on back/bi day ... but when on PHAT, I did deadlifts on lower body days ... so if I were to do a 4 day split, should I deadlift on leg days or back days?

And if y'all know of any 4 day a week routines that are better floating around online, feel free to recommend 'em.

I do the same split, I prefer my Deadlifts on back/bi day.

Squats and Deadlifts on the same day would be no bueno for me.

As far as the workout, right now I'm doing reverse pyramid training.

Deadlift on back day, then you have shoulders in between deadlift day and leg day so your lower back wont be potato.

I switched off of PHAT (due to not having the time to lift 6 days a week) to a Upper/Lower 4 day split and have been making great gains/progress.

I use the ws4sb template layout w/conjulate method but not the entire ws4sb routine
day1: max effort upper
day2: dynamic lower (basically speed work in PHAT)
day3: off
day4: dynamic/repetition upper (hypertrophy day)
day5: off
day6: max effort lower (train either squat or dead lift this day)
day7: off

day5 can = day6 you want to take the weekend off, if day1=monday.

It's a good mix of volume and power for strength, mass and athleticism.
