The getting over eating meat part wasn't neccessarily hard, it just took some time. Like I went from eating meat seven days a week to six to five and so on until I was eating it only a couple of times a month, and then around the end of the summer of last year I was pretty much able to cut it out completely. The only times I've eaten meat since have been when I was invited to people's homes and I hadn't told them I was vegan and they already had meals prepared... so instead of being disrespectful I ate the meals, but it really fukked up my stomachs though.
Getting meat out of my diet really cleared my head. I feel a lot more at peace and shyt now; I used to get angry all of the time randomly at people. But I also cut down my alcohol intake a lot too, so I'm sure that had something to do with it, and quit my job, another factor.
I don't really "splurge" at all; but then again, I don't eat a certain amount of meals, I'm pretty much eating all of the time. I snack on celery all day. For example, this is how I ate today.
11:30AM - Wake up (
); I ate some pancakes and a banana
1:00PM - I went to work out and to check out the hoes at the pool outside of the gym, drank a couple of beers there after my workout
3:30PM - Back to the crib, I ate maybe three or four peanutbutter sandwiches
5PM - I ate a bowl of grapes and an orange
8PM - I did my second workout of the day, a short one though
9PM - I had a protein shake and ate another banana
Right now, I'm typing this while eating some chips with salsa. And I was pretty much snacking on celery sticks and carrots all throughout the day.
I'm not really a healthy eater as much as I just don't eat meat. I still eat candy like a four-year-old but I'm trying to cut that out, and I still drink too much, which I gotta cut out.
But trust me on this - once you go about a month and a half or two months without eating meat at all, you won't look back, you won't even really think about it. And if you do eat it, you'll probably get sick anyway at that point.
I do miss eating cheesesteaks and chicken wings on game nights, though.
