The World was introduced to Iko Uwais back in 2009 in his first film "Merantau" which took SouthEast Asian Martial Arts to another level and "The Raid" put Iko on the map. The 4th film from Iko brings many elements of the The Raid back for another installment of ultra violence with 2 different directors. The movie centers around Iko's character Ishmael who is shot in the head and laying in a hospital bed, not remembering who he is and young nurse( Chelsea Islan) helps him with questions. Trouble ensues when the bad guys who shot him find out that he survived.

The plot is easy to follow and there really isn't much time for the characters to develop as much as the action scenes come quick and frequent. What doesn't work in this film is the over use of "shaky cam" which plagues the films action progress. The bad guys aren't 3-dimensional like Garth Evans who focuses alot of their side as well. The bad guys come and go from scene to scene never really making so much of a mark of interest. What works in the film is the action scenes which cover many different areas of environment. The fatality kill scenes are ...:picard::whoo: but Iko is holding back alot of his fighting ideas and concepts from the two directors to make this film it's own mark. I think Iko is teasing us with a the anticipation for TR3 but who knows if that will happen anytime soon.

The film is disappointing but still dope to watch.
