Voting against a guy who claims to be a Christian and for a guy who is admittedly not a Christian? :what:

I'm talking about the people who supposedly vote based on faith.

The bible clearly says that it is a complete work and you should not add to it.

Deuteronomy 12:32
Proverbs 30:5-6
1 Cor. 4:6
Psalms 119: 160

The mental gymnastics required for this double think is astonishing.

I mean, I understand it :mjpls: but its still astonishing.

I thought this thread was going to be more along the lines of "separation of church and state"

but I shall enjoy it nonetheless

can we also add the only conservatives are religious rhetoric used...and how lefties seemingly never lash back when others critique them from this angle

Okay one small, but big example is the abortion debate.

Conservatives/Evangelicals/Republicans on the right will argue, that its because of their faith that they hold this stance. In fact while watching cspan last night, bachmann said she "holds the view of the catholic church."

But the flip side is, that many catholics, christians, *insert denomination* on the left 100% believe in the word of God and 100% believe in aborting the fetus. But nobody on the left, ever says, "My following of the word & relationship with God allows me to be in favor of abortion and quite frankly, you're wrong." Their answer is usually, "through God I believe in following through with conception, but I also believe in a woman's right to choose." You have to match rhetoric with rhetoric. The right doesn't see this as a woman's issue. They see this as a religious one. The same with gay rights. In there eyes, this has nothing to do with civil rights, this has to do with biblical law. That's. It. If you're not going trump them with the same religious angle, then this will just continue to be a circular debate.

The same with the birth control debate. When the catholic church got out of pocket I was just waiting on the sideline like :usure:

How many catholic women don't use birth control because its against their faith :usure:

For really though :usure:

But of course, these factions were alllowed to stomp around flaming mad while liberal christians just attacked them from the legal standpoint.

funny you brought this up. i'm a christian and from time to time i listen to this christian station. why? because it has a lot of good info(biblical info). and i like this one cat that has guest on and does christian apologetics. basically defending christianity. not that it needs to be defended. but thats what he does on his shoe. there are other shows as well. there this one show never knew the name of it. but its these two dudes(White of course). young. probably 40 max more like mid 30's i think. but anyway. these dudes were banging hard just months ago about mormonism being a cult. i mean HARRRRRRD.

once they realized perry wasnt going to get err done. they ran after santorium. i told my wife. these dudes are SUPER hypocrites and they are just going to ride red regardless.

my proof was, if its all about abortions and keep it 100 % christian. santorum is your guy. i told her. every evangelical repub should be riding behind him. but nooooo. rick perry was the front runner at the time. once he was down. then it was santorium. once santorium was more or less being out spent by the mormon guy. they jumped on the mormon ship.

and i remember like it was yesterday. this white young guy called the station because they were having a call in and tell us who you think you may vote for and why or why not.

everyone on the bandwagon with romney. except for this 20 something yr old white guy.

he calls in

caller " So, romney is a mormon right? i'm not feeling his fake policies that he's trying to sell everyone just to get elected. i cant trust the guy. and i dont see how any other christian could or would."

The radio hosts "well well(all upset, they just knew he was going to call in and support romney)... well see hey maybe if more christians would participate in the political process perhaps we would have more christian folks to vote for. so.... this is what we have and who we have okay. deal with it."(hangs up on the guy)

so there was an older guy that came on the show in studio with these dudes.
he admitted he was loving romney and wanted santorium after perry blew it.

he said look. basically we have a ticket with a mormon Pres, roman catholic VP in ryan.

and on the other side. its a kind of...catholic VP >yes they said kind of.

and a supposed Christian president.

the guy said well if we voted based on religion we would vote for obama. but you should vote based on your values. who lines up with your values more?

the guy said that would be more so romney. since romney is running on the repub ticket.

This my friends is how they think. i have a funny feeling it could be the anti-christ with a red Tshirt that reads "i am the anti christ by i'm a republican" and they would all flock to the guy . its that bad. they are that delusional.

see to me. i understand if you cant stomach voting for a demo who is down with gay marriage and abortion. i get it. thats anti christian.

my point is this. either get you a write in candidate. OR dont vote at all. those are choices. no one makes you vote red.

the reason some do is cause they believe if they do that. then the more repubs in office the more evangelical the rules will become.

so its all about voting red regardless. of who it is.
