since batman begins there has been an overwhelming number of origin stories. just about every major character and major franchise has had a "gritty origin reboot" in the last 10 years. everything ranging from superheroes... to godzilla... to dracula... to planet of the apes...etc.

in 2017 we are getting JUNGLE BOOK ORIGINS.

perhaps we get the long awaited THOMAS WAYNE movie.

or a prequel to the lion king about mufasa and scar as lion cubs
