Just saw this article: How 'Ramy,' 'Awkwafina,' 'Work in Progress' Creators Mined Their Lives for Comedy

And recently I started watching Ramy and my wiz was watching it with me. I was enjoying it but after our most recent watch she was like, "You can watch it without me, I'm sick of these comedies based on an actor's real life." I was a little shocked at first cause I enjoyed what we just watched but after thinking a minute she kinda has a point. Has this style of programming been overdone? Do you miss premises that have nothing to do with the leads real life?

Dwayne Johnson has one dropping soon with the people behind 'Fresh Off The Boat'.

The fact that they make these shows about people who are known just means they have to spend less time catching people up on the premise.

I don't see them stopping anytime soon.:manny:
