Has social media made people more aware of tragedies??

I remember we use to have a big tragedy like one or twice every two years, like Katrina, the tsunami, Haiti earthquake. Now it seems like there's a #prayfor ... Tragedie every two weeks or something. Not to long ago we was talking about Boston bombing, New Orleans mother day shooting, not the tornado in Oklahoma. Next week it'll prolly be something else

Yeah it has, I think it's one of the things that social media is good for because it makes you more aware of what's going on in the world/
