So basically i'm watching Archive 81 EP1
And in the beginning one guy goes to him about something and he says ohh i don't believe in the supernatural.

Don't worry that's not a spoiler, you can see it's about that from the trailer.

But as soon as he said that I thought damn that was corny foreshadowing.

I think often or even usually foreshadowing is never subtle nowadays, and that makes it corny.
I can't even remember when the last time I watched something and the foreshadowing was something of quality, it was always too obvious and corny.
However there were some good quality ones in Netflix's Dark, but that's a German series isnt it?
So I guess that maybe means I mostly am referring to hollywood.

Did America spoil foreshadowing?

I think its less that and more that we just know all the tropes now. Even the most basic movie/tv watcher understands a lot of the filmmaking and storytelling crutches employed today. Simply because we're drowning in a ton of it/content. A lot of american shows in general are piss poor at building mood/tone and atmosphere though, we don't enjoy subtlety a whole lot as a market here.
