I ain't too ashamed to admit it. There were three I can think of off the top of my head whose death made me tear up...Aaliyah, Michael Jackson, and Whitney Houston. Ironically, none of their deaths hit me until a few days after the fact.

Aaliyah was my celebrity crush who was close to my age (just a few years older than me). I remember just being shocked when I found out she died in a plane crash. Just so young with so much potential. The moment that got to me was during the 106 and Park tribute to her, they did a video montage with "One Sweet Day" playing in the background.

Anyone who grew up in the 80s was a Michael Jackson fan, period. I was, and still am a huge fan of MJ and the Jackson 5. When he died, it was shocking, but I never expected MJ to live a long time because of how frail he always looked. He just seemed unhealthy all the time and was always sick. The moment for me...well it was a few moments from his memorial that had me tearing up: when Usher sang "Gone Too Soon," when his kids spoke, and when Marlon broke down (that especially cause I have brothers myself).

When Whitney died, that just came out of left field. She just seemed to be doing so much better and had a new movie that was coming out later in the year. She no longer looked all skeletal like she did at MJ's 30th Anniversary Concert, so I thought she finally beat her addiction. She was my first celebrity crush. The moment her death hit me was when BET showed a montage after her memorial, with this playing in the background.

Man, These two definitely had a nikka on the :noah: mode esp MJ. Gotta add Pac to that. For all my DC heads, I was in traffic at the NY and Fla Ave intersection at the Wendy's when I found out. Weeping at a green light. My girl at the times had to console a nikka.

I think what got me was my brother looked like him back then.....me and my 16 year old mind.:wow:
