All the Z fighters in his time are dead due to the Androids.
His world is constantly dark and bleak due to the devastation of fighting.
Goku is dead.
Gohan and Bulma were the only people left in his life and they both were killed..
Breh has had to single handedly fight and defeat every enemy on his own.
Androids, Cell, Dabura, Babidi, destroyed Buu before he could hatch.
He doesn't have the luxury of relying on friends to help.
Bears the weight of his world on his shoulders because he's literally the only Warrior left to protect it.
His timeline has no dragonballs.
Watched his mom's die.

As other have pointed out Guts. He was born from the belly of his slain mother and village. Adopted into a mercenary troupe. Where he was exposed to more death and had to mature in order to survive. Robbing him of a childhood. The man who lead the group sold him off as a sex toy. He escaped and scrapped by. Eventually finding friends with new mercenaries, lead by Griffin. The same man who later betrayed him and raped the girl he had grown to love. Despite, him being loyal to him all through the way. As a result of those events he was branded with a mark that draws demons to him. Meaning for the good part of a decade he has never slept. As these demons get active at night and seek him out. Along the way he gets an armor to boost him and help in hi vengeance to Griffin for his fukk shyt. An equipment that does him more harm than good. Breaking his bones and healing them at supernatural rates while leaving him with knockback. Oh speaking of which after his girl got raped. She lost her mind and is basically a functioning retard or better yet a child in grown woman’s body. He seeks revenge on Griffin who has ascended into Godhood. Becoming a metaphysical being beyond time and space. Plus is the leader of the five strongest beings in existence. This is the TL; DR version BTW.

Trunks life was pretty shytty, but Guts shyt was beyond bleak.

His childhood was insane, but being molested as a child by a man his caretaker took money from to allow it pales in comparison to not being able to sleep well, because demons are CONSTANTLY trying to take him over.

But, what makes it all worthwhile for me, is the panel when he's being attacked, and he makes this face ...

...it is then that, be it a demon or demigod, you will get that work.
