"The word of the day is Birds of Prey, Harley bars, Sturgis. You get it? Harley Quinn is in Birds of Prey. It's comic book shyt. So these are Harley bars. But also, Harley Davidson biker bars, like they got in Sturgis. That's where the big biker rally is. Harley Davidson makes motorcycles. Did you know that?"

"Kick Push schooled em on the coast like Pepperdine. You see? Kick Push is his song, and the lyrics go kick, push, coast. He schooled you on that. And Pepperdine, it's a school in Malibu. You know where Malibu is? Yeah, it's on the COAST"

These the bars that make Lupe better than Rakim, fam :francis:

Yes. And you missed the "Bird is the word" reference :pachaha:

He could have said "Nice big plate of fish, which is my favorite dish" :francis:

LMAO

IRONICALLY I BUMPED PAID IN FULL
ON MY WAY TO WORK THIS MORNING
OUT OF RESPECT OF THIS THREAD.

YOU INTERNET nikkaS ARE FUNNY.

STRAIGHT OUT OF COMPTON
IS LIGHT YEARS AHEAD OF THAT ALBUM
IN TERMS OF THAT ERA.

IM NOT EVEN GONNA WASTE
MY TIME PUTTING UP AGAINST
THE GOAT ALBUMS OF THE 90S AND 2000S....
THATS LAUGHABLE.

LIKE I SAID RA IS A PIONEER
AND HELPED CHANGED THE GAME
BUT IM NOT GONNA PRETEND HE
WAS SPITTING SOME FIRE IN THE 80S THAT STILL HOLDS UP 2DAY.

HE WAS AHEAD OF HIS COMPETITION
BUT HE PLAYED IN A WEAK ERA.

I get it. You listened to Paid in Full for the first time today in the frame of mind that it was overrated, and Lo and behold, you think it’s overrated. :dead:
I’m guessing you are late 20s to early 30s and came of age to late 90s, or early 2000s shyt. A time when hip hop production had already been watered down and glossed up. So the sound of Paid in Full doesn’t hit for you. I get it. The album came out when I was six. It’s before my time as well, but my ear for this shyt was developed circa 91 when the production style was still gritty. So the sound of PIF didnt sound as jarring to me in 97 when I heard it.
None of this is a slight to you or intended to be disrespectful so please don’t take it that way.
SOC is another GOAT contender album but it is not light years ahead of PIF. PIF also came out nearly a year and a half before SOC and therefore would have influenced it.

What do you consider to be a GOAT contender album from the 2000s?

You still haven’t given me a single Lupe bar that everyone knows.

The song My Melody alone has more Quotables than Lupe’s entire career. It’s not even close either.

You still haven’t listed these classic Lupe albums.

Tell me you not that dumb nikka that thinks a quotable is a line that rappers put in songs so other rappers can quote it :bryan:

Please tell me that's not you :heh:

I'll throw a TV at you crazy :birdman:

My shyt is this. nikkas talking this crazy shyt about Rakim obviously don't listen to Rakim. The fact that nikkas keep mentioning his first album let's me know how little they know about his catalog. It's wild to me that u can be mad about someone not appreciating Lupe Fiasco but then turn around and shyt on one of the greatest of all time to make ur point. This shyt is disgusting to me and nikkas should honestly he ashamed of themselves.
For years Lupe stans have progressively said THE wildest shyt.
I still remember when one of the chief Lupe stans used to come into threads, derail
them and say Lupe was better than Nas. lol.

This thread isn't the first time, I think it's just the first time I've managed to make people notice
these dudes are buggin out.

I am comparing the bars from Ra's greatest most lyrical album
Ra’s greatest album is not his most lyrical album. His best album is Paid in Full. That’s arguably the greatest album in hip hop history. He hit his lyrical apex on Let The Rhythm Hit Em.

How bout u go listen to Follow The Leader and get back to me my boy. Lol. Yall nikkas stuck on Paid IN Full when that infact was just the beginning. Ra was a teen when he made that shyt. It was nowhere near his best lyrically. shyt listen to Know The Ledge. nikkas is insane in here. Lol
Ra got better on the mic after Paid in Full, but there are still dozens of all-time Quotables on that album.
And damn near every song on PIF is an all time classic that stands on its own. It’s an amazing body of work.

I’m not saying this to suggest you disagree with any of it, but just for posterity sake and for those who don’t know.

I explained what a quotable was. But to expound on it. It’s a line that everyone knows or can recite because it dope. Not because it’s simplistic or wack or silly or anything like that.
