It's been like 17 days since I tested positive and I had mild symptoms mostly exhaustion.

Although I know it's still early days my strength and recovery has fallen off a cliff to the point the other day I nearly injured myself for the first time in years doing (reduced) dumbbells.

Anybody else had this please tell me something positive :mjcry:

Get back into it slowly with pin loaded machines and walking. Treat it like a long layoff.

Stop being a p*ssy. :stopitslime:

Get in there and put in work, but realize your strength, stamina, and rep endurance will have all fallen (which you did).

There's "nothing positive" to say other than you'll get back to where you were, provided you train hard enough.

And unless you were really moving weight like that, it's not like it'll take you that long to get it back.

  • Take it easy. Don’t try to “power through” like you used to. Athletes of all ages should follow a gradual progression to get back into exercise. You’ll need to build up the time and intensity of your workouts. Start with a slow walk and if that feels OK, try a brisk walk the next day. Then increase the amount of time you are walking. Gradually build up for about 1 to 2 weeks before you return to the HIIT training or CrossFit you were doing before COVID-19.

  • Some people might fare just fine and will be able to jump back into their old training regiment, while others will find that their athletic performance just isn’t what it used to be.
Article sounds like it was aimed at mostly :flabbynsick: folks, and OP might fall in that category.

Either way I wouldn't take half a month off from lifting and then "ease" my way back into it over several weeks, but do y'all.

Just take it slowly getting back. I would treat it like a deload period and then slowly work my way back up. Like @The Butcher said, it shouldn't take you too long to get back to where you were at previously.

I had acute chest syndrome a few years ago and man it was tough to get back....it left permanant damage to my lungs so I never really got to where I was at wind wise but that's life breh keep pushing. Just because you ain't where you was at b4 don't mean you can't be the best version of you now.

Take a trip to the official krack thread I made when this website started.....i've had 2 hip surgeries, eye surgery, the acute chest I spoke of before etc.....im still im good shape and still boxing/lifting/muaythai. I know shyt is tough now because you're in the thick of it but take your time w shyt and you'll be okay. Its a marathon brother not a sprint, hope this helps a bit fam.:handshake:

Salute brehs I've basically gone back to what I was doing as a beginner and I'm treating it as I'm going to build myself up from the start.

It's weird my physique is the same and I've had days when I can go in and just do what I used to do.

But some days I just haven't got it I knew what kind of replies I was going to get from the coli internet gangsters but thought it would be good to hear from someone who may have had a similar experience

It took me 2 months until my endurance was fully back just take another month off until your body gets rid of the fluids in your lungs. That's what's causing your body to feel weak and tired cuz your lungs don't have the same capacity from all the damage covid did. You should be back to 100 after a couple months though

Gyms my time to unwind breh I'm just going and doing what I can and I've dropped cardio.

I used to wake up early and go before work but at the moment I need all the rest I can get so I'm going on the evening.

Ya just do light workouts and don't worry about cardio. The first time I played full court basketball I felt like dieing I've never felt that out of breath in my life. I guess since my lungs still had fluids in them my heart had to work alot harder.

Yeah it's the opposite of what I know usually after being sick I play sports or run I feel awful at first but then the endorphins kick in and it gives me a high.

Another thing on the days I do close to what I used to if at any point I feel like I'm going to fail out I have to just abandon it because I've realised digging in isn't going to achieve anything especialy late in sets
