I believe it, I remember watching Guy Torry's debut on Def Jam. IT was post Martin and Joe Torry was hosting and introduced him and didn't tell the audience that was his brother until his set was done.
From my understanding Joe wasn't cool behind the scenes and burned bridges and put hands on Vanessa Fraction. His career was never going to be better than his brothers.

Apparently, Guy didn’t want Joe to tell the audience they were siblings. He wanted to get on by his own merits, plus how he said that was his little brother, it was like sonning him
