Rick Ross protégé Gunplay turned himself in to a Miami jail moments ago after a warrant was issued for his arrest, stemming from an armed robbery -- Gunplay's attorney tells TMZ.

The warrant was issued in May, listing "robbery" as the offense. No other details about the alleged offense are listed.

Gunplay's attorney Mike Grieco tells us, "Gunplay voluntarily surrendered today without incident. There's been an open arrest warrant for armed robbery with a firearm."

You'll recall, Gunplay was involved in a massive brawl with 50 Cent and his crew two weeks ago. The two incidents are completely unrelated.

A rep for Gunplay tells TMZ, the rapper was advised to turn himself in by his attorney following the highly-publicized brawl, which likely drew police attention to the active warrant.

So he got jumped, got his chain snatched, and the video of this incident besides embarrassing him (to some people) made him hot enough to have to turn himself in. It has not been a good week :wow:

Karma, thou art thee bi-ch. It was reported earlier this week that MMG’s very own Gunplay would be turning himself over to the police for a warrant dating back to May. According to NBC, Don Logan real name Richard Morales and a fellow goon Randy Jones, robbed a man at gun point in front of a tax office. There’s also an aggravated assault with a firearm charge. Gunplay’s lawyer tells the press he was surrendered to Miami-Dade officials without incident. Oh, the irony.

The rapper Gunplay turned himself in to Miami-Dade Police Wednesday on a warrant charge of armed robbery with a firearm, his attorney said.

“There was an alleged robbery that occurred in April, the robbery was not even reported until May,” attorney Michael Grieco said.

An arrest warrant said the 33-year-old rapper, whose real name is Richard Morales, and codefendant Randy Jones robbed a man at a Miami tax business on Friday, April 13.

They stole a gold chain and cell phone, with Morales striking the victim several times in the head, and later threatening the man with his handgun, causing him to run for his life, the warrant said.

The warrant was filed May 18. Grieco said that after they found out about it, he brought Morales down from Georgia recently.

“We surrendered him without incident to Miami-Dade Police” just before noon, Grieco said.

Morales also faces a second charge of aggravated assault with a firearm, according to online Miami-Dade Corrections records.

At least initially Morales will be held without bond, and he will appear in court Thursday, Grieco said.

Police said that on April 13 Turron Woodside, an employee of The Tax Place at 14628 NW 7th Avenue, let Jones, who he knew, into the business. Jones, 26, then opened the door and Morales, who was hiding outside, came in with a handgun and demanded Woodside's gold chain on his desk, the warrant said.

Woodside handed the chain to Jones, and Morales snatched a phone from the desk. Jones gave the chain to the rapper as they left the business and drove away in a black Chevy Suburban with tinted windows, according to the warrant.

When Morales returned, Woodside was standing in front of the business, and Morales pointed his gun at him as he yelled obscenities, the warrant said. Woodside ran inside as Morales fled the scene, it added.

The victim said he has known Morales and Jones for over five years. Both defendants lived in Pembroke Pines at some point, the warrant said.

Jones is also being held on no bond for armed robbery with a firearm, according to online Miami-Dade Corrections records, but is not being held in a county facility. It was not immediately known whether he has an attorney.

If Morales is convicted he could face life in prison, Grieco said. :damn:

“We look forward to resolving the matter in court, and I do have confidence that we’ll be able to get him out sometime soon and get him back to flourishing in his career," he said.

Oh well, at least Gunplay's wild hairstyle would give the other cellmates something to hold onto while they run a train on him. :scusthov:
